Southport, NC – The highly anticipated Coastal Living 2009 Idea House is under construction at Seawatch at Sunset Harbor®. Coastal Living selected the 3,000-acre waterfront community in September 2008, citing its outstanding sensitivity to shoreline preservation, natural environments, as well as home design innovation, décor, and construction.

In addition, Phillip Sides of Phillip Sides Interior Design in Montgomery, Alabama, was selected to create and supervise the interior design of the 2009 Idea House. A registered Architectural and Interior Design firm, PSID’s professional citations include show houses for Southern Accents Magazine, Met Home of the Year winner for Metropolitan Home in 1984, and Top 125 Interior Designers in America 2003 by House Beautiful Magazine. The firm has worked extensively in the United States, as well as Bermuda, and England.
“We’re excited about working on the 2009 Idea House at Seawatch,” Sides said. “We haven’t had the opportunity to create interiors for a house of this style before. The shingle style Cape Cottage includes a number of spaces in which to incorporate traditional, transitional and contemporary design ideas. We anticipate an exciting house for our visitors.”

After it is completed in late summer, the Coastal Living 2009 Idea House at Seawatch at Sunset Harbor® will be featured in the November 2009 issue of Coastal Living magazine. Tours of the house will be available in the fall with proceeds going to support local charitable organizations. Last year it was estimated that over 10,000 people from around the country toured the Coastal Living 10th Anniversary Idea House.
